after making pizza on my 18" cast iron griddle on both my SRG
and on my CB RED grill
I don't see any reason for the expense of a pizza oven

Tommy, since you have two SRGs
with another 18" CI griddle you could do two at a time which is more than enough when you're serving folks

I always thought the same & it may be true with your grills but To me after eating from a a real pizza oven...nothing compares. It is as close to Frank Pepe's Pizza as there is. If any of you make it to CT we will go. ;)   http://www.pepespizzeria.com/

but i do agree  :'( that for me $$$$ are real low so it is not worth me asking my friend to build one with me.........But it would be great.

Oh cap I have to disagree....when all is said and done I cant see the expense of a outdoor kitchen which is not the point. But anyone who had had a pizza made in a wood burning pizza oven running about 600 on the deck and 1000 in the dome knows what a great pizza is. Dont need to cook 2 or 3 at once. That oven will crank one out every 3-5 minutes. If you love pizza it is the ultimate oven.

I would save all the rock bed from the pool
in case you decide to form up for a poured slab
it will make a great base under the slab
I was wondering if those would be good for that.   We are going to pour a slab then build a pole barn sorta building with the fireplace blocking the west side (so no sun light will bother us)  I hope to build a 24' x 30' shelter.

I have water and power right there so that's already done just need to figure out what I want to do with the kitchen part of this.  Kimmie di say she wanted a few swings in the idea + a fire pit so we can sit around it & that's away from the frieplace

A chair for Gus
Why couldn't Noah have swatted the 2 mosquitoes?.

I was beginning to believe that the only thing holding you back from an outdoor kitchen was Kimmie's Shoes.

Now you're sayin' SHE'S the one who wants the outdoor kitchen.  She's not takin' any high-powered medication right now, is she?  If she is, get her to sign something right now so she can't take it back.

I know y'all will put together a place where many friends will want to gather.  Does that give you any ideas?  Let us know when it's completed...maybe we can all come and break it in for you.

if you want the smokey wood flavor in your pizza like you get in a wood fired pizza oven

..and my griddle gets to 600° easy in my CB RED grill

and on the SRG

Nice looking pizza Cap! But if you honestly believe you can cook as good a pizza on a gasser as a wood fired pizza oven we will have to agree to disagree! ;)

No pool? Did you say no pool?    Man i could not live without my pool..........but it is another labor of love!

When I had a boat I brought my blow up pool to the dock. If i could get water to the stadium I would bring it to the games for tailgating. last year I spent six hours in a pool at a pool party. :'(  The only reason i came out at all is to make fries in my fryer. ;D Well i did come out to P__ too.

Tommy I have a builder friend that built a pizza oven &  fireplace  all in one unit for his backyard I will  get you pictures & his contact info if you want.

Did you say the pool is gone :'( :'( :'(
Yes, I would love some pictures if you can get them.

Yes, I said no pool! To much  to keep up

I will get you those pictures in a few days......

what I need is a pool grill... Grill while in the pool & it could heat the water too ;D
Better then the P___ does  :D
Love to cook and eat

Tommy
something to consider
I have a roof attached to the fence on the kitchen side of my house
my utility room is attached to my kitchen
and the door to the side yard where I have all of my cookers is in the utility room
it makes all of my cookers "just outside the door" from the kitchen
the window over the sink looks out directly at my OldSmokey

my cookers aren't set up to "party" around on a patio
but they are a lot more convenient to the kitchen when I'm cooking

not shown in this pic are the vintage Char-Broil grill &the OldSmokey

Is that snow on the roof?

Now that the pool is out of the way we have a guy stopping buy to give est on pouring a floor.   We are looking at books and internet for building ideas.   As for grills I have 13 to choose from so no new grill for awhile  :D :( :( :( :(

We are also looking at weather to build a round house style building or a standard pole barn style building.
Water and power are on site so that part is easy for hook up.

Eventually I want a little shack like this.  Thinking hex with a hole in the middle, but covered, so the smoke can excape.  Maybe a fire pit and a wood fire pizza oven. And a pole holder so I can fish.

please consider a natural gas Grill and natural gas fire pit.  Kimmie will thank me later.

We had both propane gasser and a wood fire pit.  When we went with concrete pavers we also plumbed for natural gas.  No aroma, but the wife insisted and it's just so much easier.

There is no natural gas near my house  :(   So all I could hope for would be getting a big LP tank and feed off of it if that is possible.   As for a fire pit, Kimmie loves to pick up old wood and burn it instead of taking it to the street to be picked up.
