How Much Chicken Can a MAK 1 Star Hold?

At least 76 leg/thigh pieces!

Several of us band parents were asked to make a donation for an after funeral pot-luck dinner. We stopped by the butcher to pick up 20 lbs of chicken leg quarters to smoke.

They all got a hefty shake of Smokin' Guns 'Sweet Heat', then went on the grill running at 400°. Thighs on the bottom legs on top (38 of each).


Thighs done, legs moved to the bottom to finish cooking.


Here's the tray full of thighs. They were easy and delicious!



Anyone wondering if you can really feed a small crowd using a MAK Grill...

Yes you can! :)

That MAK is loaded to capacity but I think I see space for a few more on the bottom right :P

A bunch of good looking food for a sad occasion.  :(

I did a Texas BBQ for my friends "Tribute" to their Father after his service. While a bunch of work and fun being at the grills, it was always in the back of my mind why I was doing all this.

My hats off to you Cliff...Great job under rough circumstances........

Looks fabulous cliff, but I see a lot of room for more..I always load a grill up tho. I read that they picked up 2 guys for that. I hope they hang them. How are you guys hanging?  Pam .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Yep, I could've fit a few more on, but 76 was what I had. :)

Last Wednesday when the kids all came back to school was the roughest day (as you can imagine), but things are slowly getting back to normal. Thanks for asking!

Real nice job on the chicken Cliff it looks mighty tasty.
As Smoke stated, hats off to you sir for trying to bring some comfort into hearts that need to heal. Sometimes good food gives the mind a break from the pain even if just for a few minutes. Hang in there bud!
