Simple Pulled Pork plate
« Reply #-1 on: March 15, 2014, 10:25:52 AM »

Hickory Smoked a couple of Pork Butts while working in the garden yesterday.  Nice easy meal of Pulled Pork, fresh Sweet Potato Fries, and a side of salad ...   8)  8)

I want to grow Sweet Potatoes in my garden but there is ONLY one State that does not allow companies to ship Sweet Potato Slips (starters) to ... Yup!!! It's California  >:(   >:(  Gonna have to learn to grow my own slips from store bought sweet potatoes but I shouldn't have to  :(

Why can't you order Sweet Potato slips? What is the Cali. law against that trying to protect you from?

My point exactly!  If it's good enough for everyone else then why isn't it good enough for us?  All I know is that I've searched and no one is allowed to ship to CA  >:(  I can't even find anyone in CA that will ship in CA  :(  If anyone knows anything - I'm open to suggestions ...

Livingston, CA is about 35 miles South and they have a Sweet Potato Festival every year (everyone around here has some kind of annual festival) which means they must grow tons of sweet potatoes.  I guess I'll just have to drive down and see what I can find locally ...

Oh I would take a road trip, find some starters, just to stick it to the man. Minnesota is the state where nothing is allowed. We are suffocated in government.

My wife and I took on my city when they sent me a letter that I couldn't have my flag pole on my lot. They said it had to be the length of the pole (mine is 25 feet) away from the easement in case it fell over. We have postage stamp size lots here, which means Nobody could never have a flag pole.

We went around the city taking pictures of all the houses and businesses that were not in compliance. Local radio show interviewed my wife. We went before the city council, and won! My wife did a great job. I am too hot headed on stuff like this, would have ended up in cuffs.

I love my flag pole, and their was no way it was coming down.

Great plate of food Pete!!! I love sweet potatoes with pork and do the frozen fries a lot. Way to go on the flag Pappy, the only way to change any government body is to get active and not just talk about it. Don

Nice looking plate Pete. The very first thing that caught my attention was the sweet potato fries. I love 'em.  You ever try a little salt, pepper & vinegar on them?
