Mods on the SRG...again
« Reply #-1 on: April 06, 2014, 01:59:37 PM »
Looking back at some old threads I seen where Tommy had drilled holes in the smoker box cover to improve that feature. Thinking about doing that mod and was wondering if anyone has tried it and the results. I have used a TOMMY RING on my original BE, but since I bought the SRG and it has a smoker box ....why not use it.

Reffering to this post by Tommy...

I was wondering if a round A-MAZE-N-TUBE SMOKER was in the making that would fit our BE and SRG,s. Think that would be pretty cool.

Bet if you suggested it to him he would be interested. He's a really nice guy and has been wide open to ideas before. It was his smoker that got me going in the whole hobby.Brought smoking to the masses IMO.
Feel free to share my pictorials anywhere you like.Could mention from Spuds if you remember.

It worked great on the BEESR should work for the SRG.  I wish I had the newer SRG model to play with

I've used my SRG so much that I've burned up 2 Tommie rings & now just put handfuls of pellets  along the wall of the pot , works just as well.
Tommy & I both got very early SRG's & Lectric big Easy's .
He BROKE both of his & got replacements, mine kept working & I have both the oldest SRG &BEEZER in existence !

Actually Tommy's broke early, these were prototypes , looked like the were cobbled together from " pieces & parts" I'm surprised mine still working ::)

Me to, but I have to admit those were killer units, ugly as all get out but they did the job well
