You've heard of a Tommy Ring but.....

Have you ever seen a Tommy Hanger.  Some of the older members may have seen this.  It's Tommy's idea for a way to hang something vertically and not have to clean the basket.  I had a rotisserie spit that I wasn't using.  Cut it to length and had a hook I got from Lowes welded to one end.  Put the two sliding hooks on it and it's good to go.  Going to use it to cook a chicken in the next few days.

Been using this method for a long time. Nice to just use the hook and pull the bird straight out with out fighting with the cage. Thats two birds stacked.

Just use my turkey "pole" for both.   Much easier that way.   Suggest you spray it with a vegetable oil (dare I say Pam?) first.   Does clean up a BIT easier--ain't super, but it does help.    Only time I don't is with "beer can" chicken, then use the real thing, after sampling the beer first!   And, I'm not really that much of a beer drinker anymore.
