Title: PBC Butt with Traeger Ribs
Post by: mikecorn.1 on December 02, 2012, 03:11:51 PM
All I could find was this Lil 4.5 lbr last night. Went with EVOO and some of the supplied beef and game rub.

One lonely rack of ribs using perfect mix pellets. There is a huge difference in the smell of the smoke than the Traeger pellets I was using.

Here is the part of the ribs I trimmed and hung in the PBC. Came out delicious. Used some Zacks Grilling Spice.

Poke Butt done and pulled. I did foil. I will probably not next time to get more bark. It's still came out great.

PBC temp at the rebar 5hours later.

I'm not a pro at the PBC yet but I would wipe down the lid so that you don't get any Black Rain on your food.

Here is where I got my vent set for now.

If you see anything wrong with the vent setting or my comment about the black rain, feel free to correct me. I am here to also learn from others.
Thanks for looking.

ribs and your butt look good.  i never wipe the inside of my lid.  i don't get any black rain on any food.  i haven't adjusted my vent.  it works so i don't mess w/ it.

Put it in at 9a m and was done at 12:50m    was right at 200F   next time I am not going to foil to see the difference.  Maybe put a Mollasses glue on it.

I got a PM reply from Amber telling me that at my altitude, put it at a 1/4 open. Im at 16ft above sea level. I had it open a lil more than that today and it was at 404F at the beggining. Still, the butt came out juicy.

I am at 2,350Ft above sea level. I wonder what my PBC air shutter will be set at.

My PBC will be here tomorrow or Tuesday ;)

My air shutter was just hanging when I got mine. I just left it as is and mine cooks fine...of course you are higher up than me.....
