What's someone do on their birthday? Wake up at 4 am and put on some butts. :o
10 lb and a 9 lb going in the PBC.
Did the sparky umbrella trick too. Helped with freezing rain.

These were sons of guns. It took 6.5 hours to get them to an it of 150. Then I foiled them.
After 10 hours and charcoal winding down, I pulled the smaller butt and finished it in the oven. Troops were anxious, so I pulled at 195 and cooled for a bit.
I left the other one stay in the PBC.
I pulled the tray for a quick shot after it was attacked.

The other butt never got past 190, into the oven it went.
I took this one to 202 and was much happier with ease of pulling.
Took lots of notes today. Wind, rain and a full load of meat was a new experience. Enough typing, time to celebrate a bit. Cheers

Thanks Aaron. I made homemade baked beans with pineapple and red potato salad too. Yes, the kitchen is my happy place, so it was a very good day. : )
