No problem with the PBS on that list, but a few of those have no business being mentioned in the same sentence as "value" (the Horizon especially).

Even if he did say he would throw some out there that if "money was no object" I agree that those should not have been listed.

Something that would interest me in a smoker if I was to get something different.

Start with something like a Backwoods Smoker Chubby; I like the idea of insulated. Does not need to look like a BBQ. Needs to be pellet efficient in winter ??? Heck all year around, we only get two reasonable months :(

Now change it to a pellet smoker and and in the pellet boss from a MAK 3 Star General. I say three Star because I like the temperature probes better.

That's the site I found the pbc on.  When I was to get a smoker.   So far I am loving it

Since it said "value" list, I am surprised at two things:

1. no mention of Rec-Tec pellet grill, which is an outstanding value for less than $1,000.

2. Including the Kamado at $5,200.   ???  Seriously? That doesn't sound like much of a bargain, no matter how pretty it may be.

After owning my PBC more than a year - and cooking on it often - I am still amazed at the ease of use - and consistency of performance. I have never seen any other cocker - let alone charcoal fired ( which as a rule has always required some practice, familiarity with the grill and experience...) that uses ZERO "technology" - yet  is as set and forget as anything ever made.

My wife will not let me cook chicken on anything else :D :D :D. It's that good. ;)
