last cook on my PBC
« Reply #-1 on: March 12, 2013, 06:35:56 PM »
ok, ok before all of ya'll start yelling at me.  i'm just not using my PBC.  i cook all my meals on my weber kettle, WSM and my mak 1 stars.  i'm sorry but if i'm not using it its out of here.  nothing against it.  its a great power cooker.  i love it but not using it enough to keep it.

fire the last time i'm using my chimney to start it up.

ok, wait 20 minutes until cooking time.

okie dokie.  ribs and tri.  a good last cook.

everyone in the pool.

1 1/2 hours later.  perfection.

threw the ribs back on for 20 minutes more.

its a great cooking machine.

when i took the ribs off the bone just fell off.  ya.....

fantastic meal.

i do love my PBC just not cooking on it enough to keep it around the casa.  if anyone lives around sacramento and want to buy it let me know.

Ya ever consider keeping it to be just used as a chicken cooker?  Before you unload it, do a couple chicken halves...cause I haven't found anything that can cook chicken like the PBC.............

Great plate Sparky. I just think maybe you aren't a drum guy. Nothing wrong with that. I've never cooked on a drum.......so I know nothing. Go with your gut!

Sparky - Great cook! Wasn't enough to change your mind?  ;D Actually, I get you (not about the PBC cause it is one of my go to cookers...) but, in general. As the snow melts and more of my cookers come into view, I have resolved to cut back. I like 'em all, but don't use several of them enough to warrant taking up the space on the deck some of my friends could.

So, I'm going to begin culling cookers this spring - let me learn more about the ones I keep and get better at cooking on and in them.

I'm with you, but still is kinda sad...

I've never found anything that cooks any bird better than a CB SRG

Jack - I will bet you any amount of money - that if you cook a chicken on  PBC - your SRG will become your 2nd choice. No kidding! There is just something really amazing at how GREAT the chicken from a PBC is. And - I love my SRG, and would have felt as you do...until I got a PBC, and cooked a chicken in it. Amazing, and nothing short of that.
If you will drag up, and come to the fall gathering - I will bring my PBC to show you the difference.

I have had both Big Easy and PBC chicken and they are both fantastic. The skin on the TBE chicken is really crispy and good but the chicken from the PBC is more juicy IMHO.

Jack the PBC runs at 270F to 300F so the old smoke cook at 400F is much hotter than the PBC.
