Why The World Needs Grandpas
« Reply #-1 on: January 10, 2012, 06:32:03 PM »
Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Grandmothers and Grandfathers? Well, here it is: There was this loving grandfather who always made a special effort to spend time with his son's family on weekends. Every Saturday morning he would take his 7-year-old granddaughter out for a drive in the car for some quality time -- just him and his granddaughter.

One particular Saturday, however, he had a bad cold and really didn't feel like being up at all. He knew his granddaughter always looked forward to their drives and would be disappointed. Luckily, his wife came to the rescue and said that she would take their granddaughter for the drive.

When they returned, the little girl anxiously ran upstairs to see her grandfather who was still in bed. "Well, did you enjoy your ride with grandma?" he asked. "Oh, yes, Grandpa, it was really wonderful. We didn't see a single @$$hole, piece of crap, horse's @$$, blind b@stard, dipsh%t, muslim goat humper or son of a b^&*h anywhere we went!"

Almost brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?

Reminds me of a time I was driving with my wife and I in the front seat and my almost 2 year old daugher and my Mother In Law in the back seat. A car cut in front of me almost hitting us and I sat down on the horn. My daughter promptly yelled "you some beach". I looked over at my wife and said, "what have you been saying in front of this child?" My Mother In Law didn't buy it for a second.

I grew up with all four of my grandparents
I miss them deeply  ;)

You are very lucky Jack. I had my Grandmother on my Mom's side, a great little old Cherokee lady. She lived long enough to see my daughther born and died when I was 26. I have great memories of her. Never knew my Mom's dad and my Dad's Mom died when he was 17 and his Dad died while I was still very young. My kids were lucky enough to have great memories of all four of their grandparents.

ACW3,  That's funny,  I don't care who you are.  Dee
