So I paid my state and federal taxes that I owed like I have to pay every year because someone out there thinks I am rich ???

I had paid earlier just to get it out of my way and to my surprise I got a refund check back from the state. As I opened the letter with glee wondering what I am going to do with all this windfall I saw this...





Honestly between the postage and cost of printing I imagine the state might have lost money on this transaction ::)

I got 72.00 back from the feds.    21.00 back from the State and it cost me 70.00 to do my taxes.............. I hope I am outa here by next tax season.......

I am very thankful that I live in a state with no state income taxes. We do have a fairly high sales tax, but I would much rather have a consumption tax than a confiscatory tax.

Someone that earns hundreds of thousands a year is taxed at a low percentage of their income by sales tax because they spend a low percentage of their income.

Consumption taxes tax a poor person at a high percentage of their income because they must spend all of it.
