As most of you know, Larry's Pepper Stout Beef recipe is one of BBQ's great recipes. Larry has a you tube page and I thought I would share his video with you......

Looks good! Thanks, Mr. Smoke.

Nicely done video. I haven't cooked a chuckle like that in a while. I love it for sammies.

I tried this recipe and used a pork butt instead.....it was outstanding 8)

Been a while since I made it. Really good stuff!

I know it might sound sacrilegious to take out the pepper, in pepper stout; but could you substitute green peppers for mushrooms? My kid doesn't like them but loves mushrooms, and this looks way too good not to try. How strong is the beer taste? I cannot stand drinking any beverage with hops.

Yeah, why not. I have tweaked the ingredients for different flavor profiles.
The beer taste is not pronounced. You should be fine. I have found that different beers other than the one Mr. Wolfe calls for does not work.

I made this about a month ago and I used Guinness blonde beer and it still had the stout taste just not as strong and will be what I use from now on. As for using mushrooms I wish I would of thought of that I will be adding them next time.
I put my pepper stout beef on French bread with smoky horse radish sauce and it is so GOOD!!

What about something called milk stout. I tried googling for the lightest tasting stout and it said milk stout has the lowest bitterness. And it has a sweetness to it. Would it be too sweet for this?
**edit** What about bourbon?

Can't help ya on this one. I have only used the Guiness. I forgot what I tried many moons ago and it just wasn't right.

You got me on milk stout? As far as the beer taste I will tell you that I HATE Guinness beer and craft beer! I’m strictly a Busch light drinker. The first time I made it I wasn’t to thrilled with the taste but the last time with using the blonde beer I couldn’t stay out of the pan!
I thought bout using Busch light but don’t think it would give it the flavor profile that it’s meant to have.

Exactly, the Guiness is what its all about. Try the recipe like Larry calls out and you will never look back............
