I am currently burning through a bag of Perfect Mix and love em, but wondering what would be the difference if I bought some hickory.  cook hotter? just different smoke flavor?

I love their Perfect Mix too!  Haven't tried the Hickory, but I am willing to bet you'll have a stronger smoke profile on the meat and perhaps a few more BTU's.  I like the PM to much to try the Hickory :)

I prefer mixed blends of pellets. The mix of hardwood (oak, hickory) with fruit woods make for a nice flavor profile.

I think straight Hickory might be a bit too much of a good thing. I really don't burn much hickory (pellets or splits) these days.

You can also mix your own pellets if you prefer.
