Octoberfest Brews Taste Challenge

(1/1)

bamabob:
Love this time of year when Octoberfest brews are available.  Tried some different ones.  Pictured are Victory, Sierra Nevada, Warsteiner and Leinenkugals, Samual Adams was also in the mix.
In my opinion the Victory was the clear winner finishing way out front of the others. Had those flavors of fall that are associated with Octoberfest brews.
Next the Warsteiner and Leinenkuglel were okay, but tasted bland in comparison to the Victory.  Didn't have the flavors I usually associate with Octoberfest brews.
Clearly last was the Sierra Nevada, disappointing really.  Sierra Nevada brews are one of my favorites, along with Leinenkugal but the SN tasted like any other typical brew, no Octoberfest notes at all.  Maybe because it was in can.
Wish I could find more of the true German brews around here.

I'm not a beer guy.  I like Fat Tire if that gives you a clue.

I'll try the Victory this weekend on your recommendation.

TMB:
If I do enjoy a beer it has to be a heavy beer because light beer is like drinking water   :D

I do enjoy October fest by Sam Adams but my all around favorite is Brother Joseph by a local brewery here

Cajunate:

I have some Sam Adams and Yuengling Ocktoberfest I found about 60 miles from home. Ocktoberfest beers are not easy to find here in New Orleans area. Had three of the Yuengling OFf last night . I wish it was available year round. The SA is pretty smooth to me. I'll try searching for more today some time.
