Title: Visitors
Post by: tlg4942 on November 04, 2014, 05:40:52 PM
My sister and her husband have been in town so we put together a boil.  I had a little to much rum for the finished results and there were very few leftovers ! Wish Jan and Dave had been around.   Jan would have fully enjoyed it...

We also picked up two boneless stuffed chickens. One was shrimp and sausage which was great as expected.
The second was one I have been seeing a lot but afraid to try.... But butcher came out a talked a few minutes and I ask him about it... He said it is the top seller and he can hardly keep them in stock.  Its stuffed with collard greens!  I didn't know I liked collard greens until last night... Wow that was pure awesomeness right there.
Sorry the pic is poor quality.
These boneless chickens are a bit flat but very good eatten...

Terry, When the rum wears off give some more details on the stuffed collards.  I love collards and do a good job of cookin' them.  It's much easier to pick up the ones already washed and bagged.  I keep them in the freezer until ready to use how ever much I need.  Dee

Did they stuff the collards under the skin? Needs more collards or just stuff the entire bird with collards..or serve collards on the side...either way would be good.  Pam   .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Pam, The chicken is de-boned except for the wing ends. They just stuff the cavity full of cooked or blanched collards. There is seasoning on chicken.  It taste like the collards had seasoning in them as well.
You can get these chickens stuffed with all types of meats, rice and veggies. The chicken and sausage version is really good...   So far I haven't found one I don't like.  Kerry said we should have one a week...
Once I get de-boneing down I want to try stuffing one with venison myself...
