Making some red beans and smoked sausage today.
Got my beans rinsed.

In the pot with 10 cups water and seasoning. Broil then simmer for 3 hours.

Smoked sausage from the freezer. Going to slice and add to the beans the last 15 mins. Might make some rice still.

Is the seasoning one your recipes or is it out of a bag?

Rice fills you up, and you can't eat as much of the yummy beans and sausage!
-
Squirt's on the money about the rice but I never knew you could make red beads without trinity, garlic, ham hock, and tasso (and a couple of other secret ingredients). It must be possible, though - at least in parts of Georgia ('cause I can see the pictures).

LOL....I was trying to figure out why you might use artichokes!!! I couldn't figure out that was chicken :D :D :D :D :D
Will check out the Mies breading powder!

Mies is always good to keep on hand. Great for breading, thickening soups/gravies, making 'fake fried' stuff, etc.
I made some super runny spaghetti sauce last night (forgot to buy tomato paste), so I added 2 T of Miles and simmered a bit. Problem solved.
-
Will have to give it a try! I see they have several varieties of it too....

I thoughts the paper hangs on the outside for the person on the can :D :D :D ;D ;D :o

Liked that idea of Mies until I checked the link. Can not do MSG. Guess I will have to stick with Arrow Root, corn starch or what we called in the Navy Bull F#*k water and flour.
-
I am with you on the MSG Ron....*BUT* they have a version of it with no MSG - thought I would try that one.
-
I may join you on that if you want to split some of the 25 lb order.
-
Sure Ron! just let me know if you want to try it. I will wait to see if ACW3, and Greg S. - or anyone else in our area want to try it out.

The red beans & rice look delicious! I really like the fine sausage grind with the course ground fat too. It gives a nice look to it.
No Mies breading for me. MSG = Bad JuJu for Cliffy! :(

Yup..oral meds..and diet.
The VA doc warned me about it last year.
I had a lot of issues related to the brain injury from the wreck..most of them got better.
Kept eating like I was working and put on some weight.
The good news is that after a month of meds and slowing down the chow my numbers are much better.
Sugar is averaging 130 and BP is 120/65/70.
Prolly gonna make some red beans and rice after seeing this....thanks buddy.. ;D
