Title: got lucky two days in a row
Post by: fishingbouchman on April 14, 2015, 12:25:54 PM: Minds out of the gutter now. :)

The boy wanted to fish again yesterday. It was raining and yucky out side tried to talk him out of it, But he kept bugging me so of we went. We were playing around and he yells dad fish on. Jump up and grab the rod. We were super excited. Then as I am fighting it he yells again dad fish on this rod. I run over and set the hook and give him the rod and tell him to reel. He is super excited telling dad I have a fish on over and over. I thought we lost it when I set the hook. But then we see it jump. Now I am getting excited kuz we have two on at once. As soon as it gets close I run out in the water to get it. It was his first fish who cares if I get wet. Then we get the second one in. Crazy fun and super proud of him. Good size fish for a 4 year old.

Post by: drholly on April 14, 2015, 08:53:33 PM: Reminds me of my daughters' first fishes. They were 5 & 3 (the girls not the fish.) Nothing like that one - just some nice sunnies. I was teaching them to use a fly rod. Oh man that was fun. I can only imagine how much fun you had! That is wonderful.

I've landed more Springer in the last three days than all other Springer combined

If the fish are in and I'm around stop in snd I'll take ya. I find it as enjoyable getting other's into fish as much as catching them myself

I fished with our two boys, and then when my dad retired, he had more time, SO he took my boys fishing. NOW, I get to take my grandsons fishing. Truly a blessing. Met the youngest grandson up in CO last summer--he caught his first fish! You talk about excited--he literally wet his pants! I kept telling him he needed to go into the trees and "relieve" himself, but he was having too much fun, or thought he might miss "the big one that got away." I guess. By the time he reeled that nice (almost) 12" German brown in and landed it, it was too late for decorum! And, it was tasty that night for supper--grilled along with three others we caught later. Hmmm. Making me hungry.
