For years a popular snack has been the three varieties of chex cereals, pretzels, nuts, cheese crackers etc. Making up a sauce with seasoning, poured over the mix and baked in the oven. There are many different recipes out there now. Chex Mix now has bagged versions at the groceries. I have never smoked them before so wanted to try it.
For a quick way to make some to try I bought a bag of the Chex Mix Traditional. I drizzled on olive oil just to coat well some Worcestershire sauce and seasoned with Penzey’s 4S salt. You can use whatever seasoning you like. The 4S salt is a mix of sea salt, smoked paprika, black pepper, turmeric, onion, garlic, celery, rosemary and thyme.
I smoked them in my Weber grill basket at about 200 deg. grill level for 1 ½ hours. That was a quick and easy snack to make.
