Today we celebrated our 47th anniversary. When I read the “19 Steak Recipes” article I posted here, I saw one that brought back some good memories. It would make a wonderful dinner tonight at home. Steak Tartare. I used Julia Childs’ recipe.
Here are the players. I had a pound of tenderloin chopped just for the occasion.

Here are the ingredients mixed before adding the meat.

Here is my plate ready to be served. Yes, those are additional anchovies. We like anchovies around my house. They are optional for those who don’t care for them.

If you haven’t tried Steak Tartare before, you should give it a try. I wouldn’t want to eat this on a regular basis, but every now and then works for me. I hope you are enticed by my photos to want to give it a try.

Happy anniversary to you both!! Is that raw meat???
Yes, it is!! And, really good, too. The key is to remove all fat content. That's why I selected tenderloin. Not much fat content. I am looking forward to making some salmon tartare, too.

Looking forward to that one, too!

Nice looking steak tartare! Like with ceviche... only use the best and freshest ingredients. (I have some ground Waygu in the fridge now... I might have to try that tomorrow.)
I'd love to have a plate of that right now... 90 degrees and 85% humidity... too hot to cook!
Nicely done.

Congrats on 47 years, Art!
My Dad would have loved that dish, but alas I just cannot bring myself to try Steak Tartare.
