Title: Cabbage in bacon fat (a great side dish )

This is my take on fried cabbage.
4 slices chopped bacon .
1/2 cabbage (chopped )
1 large chopped onion
1 tsp olive oil .
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chilli flakes
rendered bacon fat on a low heat , as they begin to fry add the onion ,
 fry till soften .
add the cabbage and the spices .
fry on high heat and stir gently till it is soften .
I served it with wood oven  baked chicken .

Most excellent Ahron..I make my cabbage the same way, must be a Romanian thing...gotta have bacon grease. I am starting 10 lbs sauerkraut today, leftover cabbage will be done like this. Chicken looks great too.  Happ[y New Year.  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

I love fried cabbage and do mine like this, but without the spices.   Next time I'll spice it up with a little S P G (not into red pepper flakes).

I thought this was a "southern thing", so naturally Ahron would like it, being from South Africa and all.
Don't know how Pam got into fried cabbage up north,but I know she is glad she did.

That looks delicious. My wife makes great fried cabbage but like a lot of her recipes she won't share them because she thinks if I can do it I won't need her anymore.
