Title: Southern Biscuit and Gravy Chips
Post by: ACW3 on June 22, 2016, 07:24:32 PM
Well,
I saw this bag of chips this afternoon.  I was intrigued.  I am no longer intrigued!!

I took one for the team.  Please SAVE your money!!  Right away there is a barely recognizable biscuit and gravy flavor.  More of a chemical taste than anything else.  I tossed them out, that's how good they were.

Pam, you spoiled me with your sausage gravy and biscuits.  This was probably not a fair evaluation of these chips.  It is what it is, however.

I agree.  Apparently you can create GRAVY by simply dusting your chips with chemicals.

Lays has gone insane with some of their flavors. This one did not even sound good :P

The last bag I threw out were their Gyro flavored chips. They were horrible!

Apparently chip makers in Canada have it figured out...

When Aren ( Sacllywag ) brought us some of their flavors they were GOOD...The Poutine flavor was particularly good. I was surprised, but - it *can* be done well.

Why it is not done so well @ Lay's USA...who can say?

One of Kerry's kids brought some over that didn't get eaten.  I put them out for the chickens and they didn't want them either. If they won't eat something I'm sure not eating it.

Before I could throw the chips away, my dear wife said, "Let me take them back to the grocery store and see if I can get a refund or replacement."  OK, go for it.

She just returned home after successfully getting our money back.  I think I'll keep her around.

I'd probably drop over dead if someone could tell me how much money Mrs TF has saved our household in 31 years of marriage by being willing to return/bargain shop/tell the grocery store they overcharged for a sale item/etc etc etc. She'll take a receipt back to the grocery the next time we go in if we got overcharged by a quarter on something. I'm way to easygoing I guess, but I'd never do it. I just say "you go on over to the courtesy counter, I'll be in produce"!

It is obvious to me that neither of you grew up in Texas...where the school systems typically have 1 meal per week of "Frito Pie"...And - usually really, really BAD Frito Pie..... ;D :D

Why do I suddenly have a craving for a bag of Fritos and a bottle of hot sauce?

Er...because you are hungover???? ??? ;) ;D
