Title: Birthday Homemade Cheesecake and Strawberry Compote - sure, why not!
Post by: Ericd3043 on July 23, 2016, 10:14:27 PM
Today is my oldest daughter's birthday and she asked me to make her a cheesecake.  Of everything I make, my ribs, steaks and shrimp are her favorite.  However, for dessert, cheesecake is her favorite!

We went out to dinner just mom and I and the Bday girl...

Cheesecake -
Nothing major to it - Cream cheese, vanilla, , chocolate graham cracker crumbs for the crust, sour cream, sugar.

Strawberry compote-
Sugar and OJ and 4 cups of cut up strawberries.

I baked the cheesecake overtop of a waterbath.  Not sure it worked well since there was a crack in it.

Came out well otherwise, a little dense (I think I mixed it too much for the eggs).  However, the taste was there.  Will definitely have to try another piece :)
