Title: My Go To BBQ Sauce / Apple BBQ Sauce
Post by: Kona on December 11, 2016, 09:09:53 PM
I was asked to post my couple sauce recipes here so they don't get lost in the forum. This is my go to sauce and a "apple" variation of it as well. Feel free to tweak the sauce to suit your taste. Make it more sweet or spicy as you see fit. Some ask if the thyme is necessary, if it's not to your liking, just leave it out. You can definitely taste it in the sauce. Everyone at work raves about it.

    1c Ketchup
    2/3c Brown Sugar
    1/2c Beer
    1/2c Soda (I use coke)
1/3c Real Maple Syrup or Molasses
    6oz Tomato Paste
    3 tbs Mustard
    3 tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
    1 tbs Sea Salt
    1 tbs Dry Mustard
    1 tbs Worcestershire Sauce
    1 tbs Garlic Powder
    1 tbs Onion Powder
    2 tsp Thyme
    1 tsp Black Pepper
    1 tsp Paprika
    1/2 tsp Cayenne

For an apple version using Angry Orchard (or similar) and apple butter.

    1c Ketchup
    2/3c Brown Sugar
    1 c Angry Orchard
1/3c Real Maple Syrup or Molasses
    6oz Tomato Paste
    3 tbs Mustard
    3 tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
    1 tbs Sea Salt
    1 tbs Dry Mustard
    1 tbs Worcestershire Sauce
    1/2 c Apple Butter
    1 tbs Garlic Powder
    1 tbs Onion Powder
    2 tsp Thyme
    1 tsp Black Pepper

I've been using Hubba Bubba Sauce (and variations thereof) for 5 years.  Dee introduced me to it at the Fall Gathering in 2011.  I am definitely gonna try this one.  Printed and bookmarked...

Thanks
