Just ordered one of those coolers from Amazon.  The green one was $11.46.  When it arrives, I'm going to do the mod.

Being new to Sous Vide I have yet to need a container larger than my stock pot.

But, I do have an older cooker with detachable lid and, thanks to this info post, I believe I will convert for my Joule Sous Vide by ChefSteps.  The documentation states it will heat and maintain 10 gallons in a covered container.
