Title: Brie with Bacon/Maple Syrup
Post by: TMB on January 13, 2017, 11:45:27 AM
Here is a recipe Kimmie found the other day and wanted to try it out.   It's  Brie cheese with bacon, brown sugar, and maple syrup

Here is the recipe    1/2 lb bacon,  2 Tbl maple syrup, 1 pinch black pepper, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 pinch cayenne pepper &  8.0 oz brie.

Cook the bacon till crisp, break up into small bits and set aside.   The mix brown sugar, maple syrup, black pepper and cayenne pepper in small sauce pan till well mixed.  Add 3/4 of the bacon and stir , then pour over brie then sprinkle remaining bacon on top
cook at 350 for 15 mins and serve with crackers

Sounds interesting Tommy!
Mrs H does a thing when we camp. The brie is wrapped in phylo dough, foiled, but before sealing the top, holes are poked in the brie and bourbon, honey and nuts are put on top. Phylo sealed then the foil. This is placed at the edge of fire for a bit and turned to even the heat. After twenty minutes scoop out with crackers. A little civilization in the woods!
