I'll do the burn in, then a package of bacon to season things up a bit. I have a rack of baby backs, that will be first. Then a tri-tip I think.

Not being a "kill-joy" ...but seriously, the old "gotta burn in with bacon" is really not a useful thing to do. None of the parts need nor benefit from carbonized grease....And it merely adds to the collective build up that in the future you WILL need to scrape, scrub, AND bust your knuckles to remove.
The MAK is all an stainless engineering marvel...so - as to the old thing about "seasoning the grill" is really just a head trick to make you feel good about making mess in your grill ;) :D
Bacon - good! But....put a pan under it to catch that grease today - and you will be thanking your lucky stars down the road when others have to strip their grill down and re-build it. I know...I AM "that guy".... ;D 8)

Tee - good advice! These 70 year-old knuckles don't need any encouragement to lose skin....
The bacon idea came from reading some other threads elsewhere about "seasoning". Since I'm getting the 3/4 upper grate, I'll stick with the bacon, but over a pan like you suggest 'cause I really want to make some BLTs! http://letstalkbbq.com//Smileys/akyhne/cool.gif (trying to insert smiley, but it just inserts the link? Is there some trick to this?)

That sale is perfect to add a full grate and a 3/4 grate!
