Title: Cleaning my MAK
Post by: KJRsmoker on May 29, 2018, 01:45:24 PM
Being on summer break (I'm a high school teacher), I took advantage of some decent weather and cleaned out my 2 Star.  I removed the hood and scraped all of the built up char from inside the hood.  I find that if I don't remove it, I sometimes get black flakes of crud on my food.  I also vacuumed out the interior and cleaned the outside surfaces as well as scrubbed down the Flame Zone parts.  The grates also go a scrubbing.  Although it doesn't look brand new, it looks pretty good for a 2 year old, heavily used MAK.

Awesome! Any chance you have some before/after pics you can share?

If you want that exterior to look as new as it can try some of this. Just make sure the surface is warm but not so hot you can't leave your hand on the metal.

I did not take any pictures as it was a spur of the moment decision to start cleaning.  And honestly, it wasn't all that dirty - just the inside under the hood.
