Title: Most Dangerous recipe on the Web
Post by: Pam Gould on December 27, 2011, 12:01:43 PM

Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake in the World.
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder (Hershey's is best)
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional..go with bittersweet!)
Small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (Micro Safe)
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Add milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
ENJOY! (Can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). You can make it more 'guilty' adding chocolate syrup, ice cream, etc!!!
And, why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?

Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!!!
You betcha I'm sharing with my whole list 'cause if I'm gonna get fat, YOU need to do it too!

I find that sometimes one bite will do..or maybe 2, just so you get the taste. The dr told me if I crave something, have a little bit. And it works for me. It's all where your heads at. I have a sign on the front of my frig, been there for 19 years now. The duty of the diabetic is control.  Pam ★*˚°。°

Thats absolutely correct.  Mine is under control.  My brain works differently.  I love to drink, mostly vodka lime and club soda.  However I couldn't have just one.  I have 2/3.  BUT I can go for months without a drink with no cravings.  Easy to diet that way. Control is the saving grace.  Phil

Try it with one of those new sweetners made from sugar.   I hear some of them are okay for baking, haven't tried them though.

I did change the recipe..I add the Splenda for baking instead of sugar, skim milk and egg substitute. It still works.  Pam ★*˚°。°

I get the sugar substitute and the skim milk, but I never understood doing an egg substitute or egg whites only...the yolk has all kinds of vitamins, proteins and health benefits and studies have shown that eating eggs does not raise your overall cholesterol, so enjoy, eat the real thing.

Not sure if I just have a big "tablespoon" or if the measurements should have been "teaspoons", but I figured out pretty quick the ingredients would not fit in my mug, so I poured them into a bowl instead.  Seems to have made enough for at least three servings.  Pam, this is a pretty good recipe - and your right - 5 minutes to cake is a dangerous power in the wrong hands  :o. Here are the results of my experiment:

Bobo..looks just fine to me and a bowl works too. I use the big soup mugs with the handles.   Good job.  Pam .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

I don't mean to sound negative, but when I tried that recipe 4+ years ago I actually didn't care for it. I thought it was a little too heavy and eggy for my taste.

I played with it, & can post my own revised version if anyone's interested. It much lighter, more cakey and makes 2 mug cakes.

This is the kind of thing where you are sitting around one evening and somebody says, "dang, some cake would be great about now", and there is no way you are going to spend the next hour making a cake mix in the oven, or two hours mixing one from scratch, not to mention the clean up involved.  In this case, you get up and 5 minutes later you have a pretty good dessert.  A lot of variations are available to you too. I paired mine with some vanilla ice cream while it was still warm, a little fudge sauce would have been great too if I would have had some.

Ummm...Bobo...? You say that as if cake only represents an occasional craving. For some of us.....the only time I am not craving cake - might be when I am asleep....nah...I am dreaming of cake then ;D

Pam, I cannot eat any sugar at all or I will go into a comma. But, I would love to have at least a bite of this.
