Post by: bbqchef on February 20, 2012, 01:15:32 PM
Here's something you might want to try with burgers... It's a simple glaze...

1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire
2 tablespoons ground 0Chipolte chiles
1 1/2 tablespoons mustard

Combine in a small saucepan and cook until the sugar is dissolved.

Sounds like it would be good on a few things and not just burgers.   I'll save this recipe for sure

That even sounds like a GREAT glaze on smoked meatloaf too!

Good one Mike!

It's probably too sweet for pork (would need more vinegar IMHO) but works for burgers, meatloaf, onion rings, French fries, etc. (basically anything you'd put ketchup on).

A lot of folks here in the South just put straight ketchup on meatloaf......I will bet this could be a much better topping, even with some vinegar to balance out the sweetness.

A friend of mine, Page Skelton, owns the Cackalacky Condiment Company in North Carolina... he makes a pretty good sauce that includes yams... cackalacky.com.
