Title: Especially for Pam Gould
Post by: Albert Rivera on September 13, 2013, 07:50:16 PM
I can't resist to offer Pam Gould a "SPECIAL TREAT"!

Pam is especially fond of "BEEF TONGUE" and almost as happy to devour a nice portion of "SMOKED SALMON"

The delicacy that Pam has not told us is 1st on her list of special foods is "BBQ IGUANA"

Pam, notice the before and after photos of the nice fat critter in the shrubs posing in front of Sylvia.

I was able to round him up as he fled from us across the pool deck.

Served with some nice rice and beans.

Enjoy Pam!

That looks like a pork chop to me with the bacon and fatback all together and cooked to be something wonderful.   Dee

Soooo... Dee, does it mean you like what you see?

For some of us, everything always "turns up roses".

Albert, Maybe you can find a butcher who can make that cut for  you and we can serve it at the Gathering.  Dee

Already found one! Also a local Mexican restaurant owner said he was going to prepare it for me and give me a call when he got his butcher to do the cut.

Tastes like chicken

In Peru a few years ago, we took a few day tour with a local guide - he was fantastic. As we tried various foods, he kept saying - "It tastes like chicken..." We were teasing him about that and he finally said "Everything tastes like chicken - except chicken - that tastes like fish!"  ;) ;D

As much as I have traveled over the years, the only place I have every gotten sick is Lima. I went to the locals' beach and ate fish right on the beach from a shack that had no running water!

The cook used the same wooden cutting board all day, and presumably did not have facilities for washing kitchen utensils.

Some of the best raw fish I have ever had! Sickest I have ever been! Stayed sick about 2-3 weeks!

I have heard say "presentation has a lot to do with it", I wonder if a big smile and a nice set of teeth helps?

Great shot Albert! Nice looking fish...  ???

On the Peru trip, we celebrated Karen's birthday in the typical Peruvian fashion in Cusco - with a roast Cuy... Rocky didn't like it...  ;D

This was served to the folks at the table behind me, supposedly a plate for 2!

Can you imagine many more ways to prepare bananas?
