Since a longer time I wanted to try out a recipe, I've seen on A Hamburger Today (http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/06/hot-and-smoky-cheeseburgers-bacon-pickled-cherry-pepper-relish-recipe.html).
Cherry Pepper Relish
I removed the stems from 2 cups pickled cherry peppers and discarded the seeds. The cherry peppers were chopped in a food processor. Meanwhile I seared 4 bacon slices until crisped and deglazed it with a dash of Bourbon. Then I added the cherry peppers and 6 TBS sugar and reduced this mixture to a relish-like consistence.

Cherry Pepper Burger
For the burgers I seared some red onion rings (looks a bit more black on the pictures than it actually did, they were crispy and tasty like deepfried) and some bacon. The patties were roasted, seasoned with salt and pepper. Then I placed cheese, onions and bacon on their top and toasted the buns. On the bottom bun I spread the leftovers of my Dr. Bacon-Burger sauce and added some iceberg lettuce. On the top bun I spread the cherry pepper relish.

That relish is a pretty fiery stuff! Quite hot with a sweet bacon and bourbon flavor. If you like hot stuff, you gotta give it a try!

That cherry pepper relish looks just like some relish that I had in Hungary. It was pretty spicy. A little went a long way.
