Title: What is it?
Post by: PoppyBill on November 10, 2013, 11:24:56 AM
Here's a question for those more familiar with spices than I. The little sprinkle in the picture is from Blazin' Blends Montreal Style Steak Seasoning. My question is what are the little spheres? They're hard, have a kind of 'husk' on the outside, and a flavor I can't recognize (or particularly like).  :-\

I agree, coriander is actually the seeds from cilantro plants. To me they have a lemony taste. Don

Yep, looks like coriander to me too.

...coriander is actually the seeds from cilantro plants.

Good info, Don. In Indian cuisine cilantro is usually called "fresh coriander."

Well that explains a lot; I don't really like cilantro either!  :(
Thanks y'all, this has been very educational. I suppose I could have looked it up on the 'net myself, but it's more fun here!  ;D ;)
