Pumpkin soup from the grill
« Reply #-1 on: October 04, 2014, 10:36:32 AM »
Here's one nice recipe for pumpkin soup from the grill: Scoop out a hokaido pumpkin. Mix 400 g creme fraiche and 200 g sour cream in a pot, add one minced garlic clove, salt and pepper and heat that mixture lightly (don't let it cook!). Then add 175 g grated cheese (I used Gruyere). Fill this into the pumpkins and place them on the grill over indirect heat at about 350° F for 2 hours.

Here are my pictures that begin with some jalapeno poppers I had as starter:

That looks really good and sparks an idea that a chub of Jimmy Dean sausage in the cream sauce might just work (according to my better half)

For us Americans..I converted measurements.
Here's one nice recipe for pumpkin soup from the grill: Scoop out a Hokkaido pumpkin. Mix (14 oz creme fraiche  and 7 oz sour cream in a pot, add one minced garlic clove, salt and pepper and heat that mixture lightly (don't let it cook!). Then add 6 1/8 oz grated cheese (I used Gruyère). Fill this into the pumpkins and place them on the grill over indirect heat at about 350° F for 2 hours. I'm making this one..so cute, like making soup in a bread bowl only cuter.

Thank you for converting, Pam.

Handle the pumpkins with care when you remove them from the grill!
