what kind of sides is everyone making for T Day?
« Reply #-1 on: November 24, 2014, 09:50:40 AM »
I make the usual sides, dressing and oyster dressing,  chicken & homemade noodles, smashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, fried corns. The usual deviled eggs and cheese tray and veggies trays. I want something different.  Any suggestions?

Tent, one thing I do with my mash potatoes is I caramalize onions and mix them in with the mashed potatoes to which I have buttermilk, sour cream, and butter.  Sometimes I add other stuff as well.  Dee

I am not sure what all we are having, going to eat some of our daughter in laws cooking. I am taking some good smoked ham and calico beans. I think she is having a turkey breast, mashed taters and gravy, not sure what else. Don

Cranberry, of course cranberries
Sweet Potato Casserole, real close to what TenH said.
Green Bean Casserole
Sausage dressing
Collards - Using some of the pulled pork I did yesterday
Coleslaw
Mac and Cheese (maybe, got a lot going on) Alto Brown had a great recipe on line.

Some of the above will be done on Wednesday since I have the day off. Makes turkey day a little easier.
Love to cook and eat

Chives or green onions would be good as well. Buttermilk was a great call
