This is my wife's creation to replace a Martha Stewart recipe which was way too complicated.

1 1/2 pounds boiling onions, peeled
1 can cream of celery soup
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
salt and pepper, to taste

1. Peel onions and cut large ones in half or quarters, as needed
2. Mix soup, cheese, salt and pepper in a small mixing bowl
3. Place onions in a single layer in a buttered shallow baking dish.  Pour sauce over all.
4. Cover with tin foil.  Bake at 325 for 30 - 40 minutes.  Uncover and bake until bubbly and browned, and onions are easily pierced with a fork.
