Packzi time
« Reply #-1 on: January 15, 2015, 11:34:23 AM »
I made some packzi this morning..very easy and killer, stuffed with strawberry jelly and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Very tender and soft, dough is real soft and sticky.  Not bad if I say so myself.  Pam  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

David..my recipe is close..lemme get it for you..
****** Packzi ******
1 tbs sugar
1 tbs butter warm
Heat 1/4 cup milk 110º
Add 1/8 tsp vanilla
pinch salt
1 egg
1 tsp yeast
1 cup flour -  1/2 cup at a time. We want a really smooth, soft, sticky dough. Knead 5 minutes and cover and rise for 1 1/2 hr. Roll about 1/2" thick. Let rise about half an hour till doubled. 350º for 2 minutes per side. Let cool 15 minutes then fill with jelly. Sprinkle with xxx sugar or frost. Makes four 6 inch by almost 2" high packzi.
Can be doubled or tripled or more. Only me, hubby and baby here so I don't like to make too many..Very simple to make..warm milk to 110º and add yeast. mix rest in KitchenAid dough hook and let sit coverd with towel for 1.5 hours. then put on floured board..very sticky dough and knead in more dough..cut to shape, I just cut in 4  pieces on floured cookie sheet. Let rise another half hour and deep fry. About a minute or lil more on both side.  Let drain and cool for a few minutes and stuff with whatever you have. Any jelly, jam, cream cheese with a lil honey added..just anything. Enjoy while they are warm.  they do not last well over night.  So ya gotta eat them. Enjoy  Pam  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.
