Making Use of the Ham
« Reply #-1 on: February 03, 2015, 10:39:25 AM »
We've been putting that 12 lb ham we smoked over the weekend to good use.

Sunday evening, the Mrs. made a Scalloped Ham & Potato casserole (I'll post that in "Recipes -  Veggies, Casseroles, & Other Side Dishes")

Yesterday Schools were closed due to weather (including Kent State where my daughter goes).  So we made some homemade buttermilk biscuits and fried up some ham & eggs for some breakfast sandwiches.

Boy, these really hit the spot on a cold morning!

Start to finish, they took about 25 minutes (including bake time)...  just like it should have taken down at the gathering this year.  :D

Hey, the biscuits I made the first day were good.    It was the ones a couple days later...   by time they were done, and the sausage gravy was cold...  Well, let's just say they would've made great hockey pucks!  ???

Lesson learned:  Make real sure your MAK has enough pellets in the hopper...  BEFORE putting the biscuits on...  so they don't take an hour to bake!  ::)
