Cast iron skillet and a camp stove...

Works when the electricity doesn't!

I have a 3 burner Camp Chef stove out on my deck that I cook on 2 or 3 times a week, it is great for emergencies but I also have my Dad's old Coleman gas stove that I have converted to propane that I can use down in the garage in an emergency too it it is too rainy to cook on the deck.

I have a large two-burner camp stove (don't recall if it's a Camp Chef or Superb) and the small Coleman. I didn't feel like setting up the larger burner (it's on my equipment shelf and needs the legs attached) so I went with the Coleman. Although underpowered it worked OK.

If it was a long-term outage I would have set up the larger stove. Although I have a "few" cookers in the side yard, it's no fun cooking in the wind and rain!

BTW... I searched in vain to find an old-fashioned coffee percolator... Couldn't find any locally, I'll have to try on-line.

Hope everyone fared well during Sandy. I know NY and NJ got hit a lot worse than we did.
