« Reply #-1 on: December 16, 2012, 10:57:00 PM »
Down at the beach so lets do some crab fishing.

Lost a few others at the rocks.  Had some on but just didn't hook up.  landed a nice mommy crab and a baby.  Still had a great time and got 2 good sized cakes out of this so I was happy.  No smoke :(

and a little corn chouder.

Need to get back down soon before the Commercial guys get in.

Nice looking comfort food! All my crabbing experience is down on the Gulf Coast of Florida and Alabama for blue crabs. I have a couple of crab traps I bait with chicken necks or the little wing tips I cut off when I make wings. The backbone you cut out when you spatchcock a chicken is good too. Nothing more fun that pulling up a trap with a dozen big select size blue crabs in it except eating them later.

Usually use traps but getting into using a rod and reel. More fun but takes a lot longer to limit. Then again takes a bit to pack the boat and haul it. Win win either way when you come home with a limit of dungeness crab.
