Filet Steak
« Reply #-1 on: June 03, 2019, 07:37:59 PM »
Ms H brought home a whole beef tenderloin from Costco.  It took me a while, but I trimed
off the silver skin and fat.  Then I cut the rest into 1 1/2" and 2"  thick steaks.  There were a bunch of beautiful steaks.  There was also some small 1" and 2" chunks that Ms H put in baggies for later.  She makes a dynamite stew with those pieces.  There was very little waste and many steaks cut the way we like them. Onto the Weber with charcoal and Hickory chips.

Onto a hot sizzle plate with baked potato and fresh mushrooms Ms H fixed.

Of course I had to get a few early bites to check for quality control.  Results: Delicious

Looks great! And I love the plate. I have been looking for the perfect steak plate and I think I found it at The Oyster Bed. What brand is this, and does it hold the heat?

I bought these sizzle plates with the wood plate holders over 20 yrs ago @ Star Restaurant Supply in Van Nuys, Ca.

They have served me and my Family well.
