This morning while having a cup of coffee I suddenly had an ahnvie for some beignets again. I decided to do some country style beignets this time. I had a couple of cans of small biscuits in the fridge sot it was happening. Not like it's a lot of work but I did these in different shapes. Some were donut shaped, some doughnut holes and some just flattened a little, stretched and a crisscross cut in the middle. In no time they were done!
When I was a kid we would put 'em in a paper bag with powdered sugar and shake it up to get 'em good and sugary.
Only thing bad about them is you can almost eat a whole can in one sitting with a good cup of coffee.
