My adventures into LOW SODIUM ides's

(1/2) > >>

TMB:
Although I need to stay LOW SODIUM my doctor say's I can add a few more MG's of salt later to my eating program but for now he wants me to stay at 1500 mg or less

Here is my version of Chicken and Rice.      I cut half a chicken Brest into small pieces and stir fry them in 1 TBS olive oil, 2 tsp Mrs.Dash garlic and herb spice.    I fry til the chicken is browned and a good fond in on bottom of pan the remove chicken and add about 2 cups unsalted chicken broth and stir to get all the yummy off the bottom then add rice and let boil til just about done then add chicken back to finish.

Not the greatest chicken and rice because the salt really adds flavor BUT for something close it's hard to beat.

Total count, 100 mg's for the half chicken breast, 0 for the chicken stock, 0 for the rice, 0 for the seasoning.

So a meal for 100 mg's ain't bad

Looks good.

Here is Cod fish we bought BUT didn't know till we read the package that the count was 340 mg of salt  ???

But being I only had 675 mg's before this meal I'm still below the 1500 mg's for the day  ;)
I used Panko bread crumbs which is only 45 mg per 1/2 cup (which is all I needed for this meal)

I dipped fish in egg wash and coated with panko crumbs and fried in a non stick pan with 1 TBS  of olive oil

The potatoes have 0 mg of sodium and the fish total was about 385 mg's

Great self-discipline.  Stick with it, Bud.

I've found that if I up the garlic I can lower the salt easier...
