Ribs , ribs and more ribs!
« Reply #-1 on: February 28, 2013, 08:10:50 PM »
I was having rib withdraws after spending a week in sunny Florida crappie fishing with my dad. I got home Wednesday and I left behind shorts and flip flop weather..

for cold and snow..

So what's a guy to do??  Smoke some slabs!
I picked up three slabs of spares on the way home after leaving the airport and got to smoking them today.

One slab got head country and gun powder with a mustard base.

One got BPS money rub and double secret steak rub with a mustard base.

The third slab got smok'n guns hot BBQ rub with a chili olive oil base.

These were smoked for one hour using oak pellets then cooked another 1.5 hours at 255 then foiled for 45 minutes.

The slab with the smoking guns hot got a treatment of hot buffalo sauce and butter at foiling.

The bps money and double secret got an apple juice bath and butter.

The head country and gun powder got butter only.

After the 45 minute ride in the foil the sauce comes into play.

The bps money and double secret ribs got sauced with blues hog mixed with the foil love after being fat separated.

The smok'n guns hot got some buffalo sauce.

The head country and gun powder got spritzed with apple juice.

Everything went back on for another hour until done.

Done done and done!

The hot buffalo.

The money, double secret and blues hog sauced.

The head country, gun powder and apple juice spritzed.

Lots of left overs! Who's hungry?

Craving satisfied! Heheheh

My favorite were the buffalo style ribs! If I ever opened a rib joint/food truck those would be on the menu.
Next would be the head country. This rub is good on everything.
My least favorite would be the money and double secret rubs. This was the first time I used this combo..
I've used money and blues hog before and that I really like. The double secret and money together is a bit too black peppery for my taste on ribs.

Wow - I don't need to cook tonight - just licking the screen. Nice ribs and great pictures!

Going to have to try the buffalo ribs for one of our softball parties - they love hot wings, I bet they go crazy for these ribs.

Thank you!

Wow...the pictures were so good that I didn't even realize how many there were.  24 mouth watering pictures of ribs, plus a sauce picture and a couple of landscapes.  Thanks for giving us so much pleasure.
