Super Pig Bacon Wrapped Johnsonville Brats
« Reply #-1 on: June 29, 2013, 02:41:45 PM »
So here we go...

Add the beer to a pot and then add another can of water. Put in the brats before starting the burner. Now watch the pot carefully until it starts to boil...

You are looking to bring the brats up to high temp without fatting them out.

Once this happens immediately remove the brats to a ice bath or fridge to cool down. In the fridge about 30 minutes a ice bath just a couple minutes.

Now get some bacon and give it the Super Pig treatment on both sides...

Now wrap the bacon around the brat and hold in place with a half toothpick...

Ready for the grill...

Onto the SRG grill...

Once the bacon takes on color and the brats start releasing juices rapidly they are done. You don't want to wait until the brats blacken or split. Then they get over cooked IMHO. They will cook faster this way so the bacon will not end up charcoal by the time the brats are fully cooked...

Off they come...

Topped with Sweet Baby Ray's and some peppers on the side...
