Oregon's Willamette Valley Garden
« Reply #-1 on: September 02, 2013, 02:00:43 PM »
We were able to get our garden in a couple of weeks earlier this year due to a dryer spring.  The cages around the pole beans are because the rabbits like them just as much as we do.  A Scare Crow sprinkler at each corner keeps the deer out.

Nice Garden!! My Dad lives in Marcola and has a huge garden every year. We just sold a Scarecrow sprinkler in our garage sale, They work good but I always forgot they were there and got drenched one to many times :)

I'm super envious of your garden. It looks fantastic!

Fantastic garden, terryk!

You might consider an 8-foot fence Sam3 - I don't know about the deer in your area, but ours easily jump 6 feet, and really determined ones will even be able to hop the 8-foot standard deer fences we do here.

What a great garden terryk! Between a very cold and nasty spring and then rabbits - my garden was a disaster. Glad you had such success!

How do you keep the weeds down in the paths?

I don't water the paths, I only water right at the plants and it makes all the difference in the world.  I usually put in drip watering with a timer and valves but didn't get to it this year so I have been watering my hand.
