Labor Day Jucy Lucy
« Reply #-1 on: September 02, 2013, 02:49:50 PM »

Alright... it's Labor Day... Time to make Jucy Lucies...

Four ounces 80/20 beef patties seasoned with S&P, Worcestershire and granulated garlic...

Plain old cheddar cheese added... (You could get fancy and use different cheese but cheddar works for me! <Maytag bleu cheese might be nice.> )

Topped with the second burger patties; edges sealed tightly and seasoned with a bit more salt, pepper and granulated garlic... Off to the fridge to rest for a couple of hours so the patties firm up a bit.

Then onto the grill (medium heat) with some hickory for smoke. About four minutes per side.

Finished with "secret sauce" (nothing fancy... ketchup, mayo, relish and some seasonings), red onion slices, garden fresh lettuce and Roma tomatoes from the garden. Served on Miami rolls (or crusty rolls if you prefer).

Love a Juicy Lucy! Yours are looking good. I live pretty close to one of the places that claimed to invent them (5-8 grill) but they've been skimping on the cheese lately. Yours look like they have right amount! BTW - blue cheese is excellent in there...  ;) ;D

Served with onion rings & horseradish sauce along with garden-fresh tomatoes, mozz and Romaine salad
