What to do with...
« Reply #-1 on: September 07, 2013, 01:10:54 AM »
had planted a jalapeno plant and got a few off but had a couple that I didn't get to (wrapped up with new house) and they turned red.  What should I do with them?

Personally, I would use them as you would any other jalapeno - they are delicious!

Grind them up with some other spices and forget what color they ever were.

I like to use both green and red for some extra color. I've never noticed a difference.

Red peppers are just ripened versions of green. As someone said use them the same way. I prefer red over green in most instances....more flavor!

If I can wait long enough for my Japs, habaneros and serranos to get mature and change color I prefer them. They add a nice color contrast to the dish without adding any additional heat.
