Yesterday I couldn't spell BBQ but . . . HELP!
« Reply #-1 on: September 10, 2013, 03:17:56 PM »
I have been accepted to candidacy for the KCBS "Doctor of Barbeque" (Ph.B.) "degree".  This is an honor to say the least and I am very pleased.  It is also an effort of some moment -- one actually writes a fairly lengthy dissertation on an approved topic and must then defend it in orals as well as give a judging demonstration.  I'm guessing it will take me about a year to do the research, analysis and writing I have proposed.

My purpose in noting this here is not to toot my own horn but to alert the KCBS member base on LTBBQ that I will be seeking you out for some input to my research work (method now in development) when the time comes to "hit the road" on that phase.  I'll be looking for a broad base of ages and backgrounds and will appreciate any and all responses when the time comes.  We have at least one Ph.B. (bbqchef) active here but there may be others I don't know.

That is good.  Real good.  I wonder what the cap and ground looks like.  Dee

Of course everyone should understand that you are not talking about my backyard and a group of my friends.

Mike, I have your book and have found it to be clearly written for people like me - the backyard jacks- who enjoy outdoor cooking and want to do their best out there...great help from setup to food prep to every aspect of my experience.
