How to make home made bread the easy way
« Reply #-1 on: October 18, 2013, 11:41:32 PM »
Here is the fastest easyest way to make bread.  My father taught me this way many moons ago and the neat thing is I use my grandfathers food processor  to do it with.  Dad used this food processor to make bread then I inherited it when he passed.

Simply...  add flour (Better for bread works great) two packets of yeast warm water, sugar, salt  & olive oil.  Don't forget to proof the yeast in sugar water (#2 picture)

That's two cups flour, 1 tsp oil, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 sugar pulse the mixture than add enough water/yeast to get a ball to form. Then dump into a big bowl and repeat till you think you have enough dough.

Each ball should make a loaf of bread but mix them all together so they all taste the same.  It's easy to miss an ingredient now and then so mixing altogether is a good idea.  Punch the dough down and work it for 5 mins or so then cover with a towel and let it rest till it doubles in size.

After it doubles, punch down again work it then cut into dough balls then roll into football shapes then let it sit til they double in size again.  Now once all that i done cook in an oven at 425 til golden brown

Next post I'll show you what it looks like done!

Ok, here is the bread and two loafs of pepperoni bread. Dad loved pepperoni bread so I did these with him in mind!

If you never made bread before please give it a try it's worth the effort

Your grandfather had a food processor? Mine had knives and a cutting board. I was in my mid-20s and married with a wife and child when the original Cuisinart first came out (c. 1973) and all of my grandparents had been dead since the 50s.  Nice looking bread though (and I still have some of those knives somewhere).
Everyone is entitled to my opinion
