We had our first dog... Bridget, a black lab mix... for 13 years and then Abigail Rose for 11 years. I wasn't sure about getting another pet but the bride really wanted one so we found Lucy in Maine... she's a rescue puppy from Virginia.

First of all, posting a pic of that burger was just MEAN. :)
I've always said that if my dog(s) don't like someone, then there's something wrong with them. We've been through several generations of canine pets, and when one goes the inevitable mourning gives way to a strong desire to fill the empty space in your life. And good on you for adopting from a rescue organization!

The house is just not right without Abby... it's too quiet and no one to keep my feet warm on the couch. I think Lucy will do that just fine!

I love rescue pups. Roscoe is a "can'ardly" - you can hardly tell what he is... but lovable and a perfect gentleman. Back when I had Irish Setters, the female that gave me two litters of excellent pups was a rescue.
You can't catch a fish if you don't get a line wet...
